David is an Ecologist and Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) with MacArthur Green. His role involves protected species surveys, breeding bird surveys, water quality monitoring, peat survays and ECoW duties.

Prior to joining MacArthur Green, David worked as an ecologist carrying out protected species surveys at wind farm sites across Scotland. David’s previous roles have included voluntary contributions to upland, wetland and tawny owl surveys with the BTO, a sett monitoring scheme with Scottish Badgers, and a long-term position within the Birds of Prey department at Blairdrummond Safari Park. David is also a registered level 1 field guide for South Africa with 250+ days of guiding experience in ‘Big 5’ reserves.

David graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MSci. in Zoology with First Class Honours (2019). David’s thesis, which focussed on temperature regulation in polar region seabirds, received the ‘Highly Commended’ award from the Global Undergraduate awards, and he presented the results of this project at the 2019 Society for Experimental Biology conference in Seville.
